The rear carpet in my Porsche Boxster is wet; where is the leak coming from?

The rear roof drains can get blocked by dirt and leaves, forcing rainwater into the cabin.

This issue can be more serious than simply having to dry out the carpet, as the water tends to collect close to the electronic control unit under the passenger seat. If this unit suffers water ingress it may cause random problems with the alarm or locking, or even need replacing.

A trained Porsche technician would know to clean the drains out when servicing a Boxster, but long service intervals mean debris can build up.
