What is the best way to clean my Porsche Boxster’s top?

Fabric tops need care to keep them looking good, but you won’t need to wash them too often. Regular brushing – using a soft brush and following the direction of the cloth’s weave – is generally enough to remove dust and light dirt.

If the top has got quite dirty, you can spray it with lukewarm clean water or wash it with a special convertible-top cleaner. Use either a soft brush or sponge to gently rub the cleaner off (a cloth will leave lint) and then rinse it with clean lukewarm water.

You should also apply a fabric protector to the top once a year to help re-proof it.

Porsche recommends its own Porsche Wash-Shampoo & Convertible Top Cleaner products, but there are alternatives available from the likes of Autoglym and Renovo.
