My Porsche’s wheel arches have rust spots. What should I do?

Porsche bodywork is generally high quality and corrosion is unusual, but the wheel arches are more susceptible to rust than the rest of the car due to stone chips.

If you spot it early enough, corrosion here shouldn’t become a major issue and can be easily treated. Small areas can be cleaned of rust, treated with a zinc primer and then repainted – if you are confident in your practical skills, it can even be done as a DIY job.

However, if the rust patch is more than a few centimetres, it is sensible to seek some advice from a Porsche bodyshop about the best course of action.
